A busy week is coming up at the end of the month with Pre-Festival on 2/24, Jazz Festival on 2/25-26, and SCSBOA Festival on 3/2. Volunteer information coming soon. Please read the following letter from Mr. Philips regarding concert attire.

Dear Parents,
I am sending this letter out with my apology for the delay. We had a wonderful parent overseeing the ordering of concert apparel for the band in the past, but she has since retired and I forgot because we did not have any concerts last year. We need to have the students look the same for concert season. We ask that boys look as “tuxish” as possible:

Black dress pants (not jeans)
White tux shirt
Black dress jacket
White bow tie for students in period seven wind ensemble
Black bow tie for students in period one symphonic band
Black socks
Black shoes (marching band shoes are fine)

The students don’t have to buy a tux but they can buy all the parts they need at Friar Tux in Lakewood with special pricing. See below. Again, you can get all of the items on your own, but I will order bow ties in both colors to sell them to the kids as needed. They are $4.00 each. They can just bring cash, Venmo the boosters, or contact Leslie at MayfairBandTreasurer@gmail.com to use account credit.

As for women, WE will order a long black dress for them. Mrs. Bookout, our color guard advisor, will fit the girls and we will place an order for them at the same time. They should be here in a week. The cost for the dress is: $60.00. We will need a check made out to: MHS Band Boosters, pay via Venmo, bring cash, or contact Leslie at MayfairBandTreasurer@gmail.com to use account credit. The dresses will come a little long and they will need to be hemmed by you for your child’s exact height.
