What Recording Secretary does …

• Take notes during the Board meeting and General Booster meeting on the 3rd Tuesday each month. Arranges for a substitute note taker if unable to attend a meeting.
• Circulates and keeps a sign-in sheet for each meeting.
• Types up notes (Board and Booster are kept separate) using your favorite word document. Noemy’s previous minutes can be used as a format guide.
• Sends minutes to President and Corresponding Secretary in a timely manner.
• This is a great beginning position for someone looking to get more involved!

The official description of the position from the bylaws: The Recording Secretary shall keep an accurate record of the proceedings of all meetings of the association and of the Executive Board. He/She shall be prepared to refer to the minutes of previous meetings, and shall prepare a summary of unfinished business for the use of the President. The booster meeting minutes will be prepared and sent to the corresponding secretary within 10 days for membership distribution. The Recording Secretary should have a current active members list, made available upon request.

The nominations will be closed on April 7, 2023. The slate containing all nominees who have accepted their nomination(s), will then be posted online. Voting will take place at the April Booster meeting: Tuesday, April 18, 2022. All positions, including vacancies on the slate of nominees, will be open for nominations from the floor on April 18th. Only Booster members that have paid their $10 membership fee are eligible to vote. It’s not too late to pay! Contact MayfairBandTreasurer@gmail.com before April 7th to be eligible.
